Unit Price Calculator

Find the price per unit from a total cost and quantity, then compare packs, sizes, and offers with clear results.

Best for: Compare two grocery packs, Review supplier quotes

Quick answer

Calculate price per unit by dividing total cost by quantity, so you can compare offers on the same basis.

Overview

Use this calculator to turn a total price and a quantity into a clear unit price. It helps when products are sold in different pack sizes, weights, volumes, or counts and you want a like-for-like comparison. Enter the total cost and the number of units, and the tool returns the price for one unit. This makes it easier to spot whether a larger pack is truly cheaper or just looks cheaper at first glance.

Use cases

  • Compare two grocery packsCheck which cereal box, rice bag, or yogurt pack gives the lower cost per gram, litre, or item.
  • Review supplier quotesCompare bulk prices for screws, paper, cleaning supplies, or raw materials using the same unit basis.
  • Judge subscription bundlesWork out the cost per seat, per month, or per feature when vendors sell different package sizes.

FAQ

What if my quantity is in grams or millilitres?

Convert to the unit you want to compare first, or enter the quantity in that same unit so the result matches your comparison target.

Can I compare packs with different sizes directly?

Yes, as long as both results are converted to the same unit. For example, compare both packs per kilogram or per litre.

Why does my result look smaller than the shelf label?

Some labels show the total pack price, not the unit price. This calculator shows the cost for one unit of the measure you entered.

What mistake causes the wrong result most often?

Using the wrong quantity unit, such as entering 750 when the comparison should be per litre instead of per millilitre, will change the result.
